Blogging the Bible 96 – 1 Chronicles 28-29 – David hands on the baton

Again the Chronicler builds up his picture of David setting the agenda for Solomon’s reign, and being the real power behind the building of the Temple. He’s shown as an example of generosity and of wisdom.

The verses that stuck with me through today, though, were 29:17-18. Good searches and knows our hearts and minds, and our generosity only means anything if it comes from a willing heart. The same can be said of our Obedience, Worship, etc.

So today let’s open our hearts to God’s searching gaze and ask for his purity.
