Blogging the Bible 54 – Joshua 12-17 – Where is my territory?

So far as the text today goes, I can’t help feeling that the above picture says almost as much as a few thousand words… It’s mostly a setting out of the lands allocated by Joshua to each of the tribes plus Caleb’s descendents.

So rather than any long discussion, the main thing I’ve been thinking about today, sparked by this passage rather than really commenting on it, is a question with two parts –

What is my territory – that is the place God has given me? And what does he want me to do with it?

As a parish priest, in some ways the answer for me should be pretty obvious. But for all of us there is a territory, a place or a situation where God has placed us and in which he calls us to care and work. What’s yours? And why has God placed you there?
